The lines are very heavy and bold, and the contrasting objects; the body and pillow are nicely balanced.

I do appreciate.

I used a brush-pen for the black lines. Do you think they are too bold? I quite liked the result, but it wouldn't be good for detailed drawings life the previous 2 images I posted (same evening, same model, just pencil).

No. It is not too bold. I like the boldness. It is perfect with the amount of line work. I could use some work on my line work.

Thank you. I am more gestural, so I use squiggly lines and scratches.
I've never been the type to use a few defined lines to say what I want. I hope that print making will help me be more selective. You can't erase a wood carving.

Ha ha. I know what you mean. I have a very sketchy line (the fiber-tip line was drawn on the top of later-erased pencil)!

But I do love simple and precise lines. That's probably why I love comics so much.
Still a lot of work to do... :)

Carving scares me a lot! But it's definitely a challenge and it will improve your skills a lot!
